Flower Shops
In Mays Landing and nearby towns, we have florists who have skilled arrangers that are highly qualified to suit your floral arrangement needs.
Orders for floral arrangements cannot be placed through our funeral home.

Local Churches
As a convenience to our community we have included a listing of many of the local churches in our area. A growing number of churches are starting to publish their own web sites to allow visitors to learn more about their clergy, congregation and many other features and services of the church.
Veteran's Cemetery
The Atlantic County Veteran's Cemetery is located in the Atlantic County Park in Estell Manor, 3.5 miles south of Mays Landing on Route 50. The cemetery was officially dedicated in May of 1985 and serves as a final resting place for eligible veterans of the United States Armed Forces and their spouses. The cemetery can accommodate 5,800 interments. About 50% of these are already filled. Plans to expand the cemetery are currently underway.
Each year, a Memorial Day and Veteran's Day service are held at the cemetery. Call Park staff at Atlantic County Park in Estell Manor for more information about these services at 645-5960.
The Atlantic County Park System also maintains a Veterans' Memorial Park that is located on the corner of Zion Road and Bargaintown Road in Egg Harbor Township.

Service Clubs
Mays Landing has many service clubs that will offer their services such as use of their facility for the reception or have prayers during visitation for family member that was part of their organization as a way of honoring and celebrating their life.
Community Service Clubs serve numerous functions. Many family members and visiting friends belong to service club organizations back in their hometown. We conveniently provide this listing to aid make-up meetings, inquiries, or contact names for arranging special service arrangements if the deceased was a member of one of these organizations.
Senior Groups
During a time of mourning seniors groups can be helpful. You are surrounded by people who understand what you are going through. They are also a place to go to be sociable and talk about your fond memories. Playing cards, and reading are just some of the things that you would do. We have provided the information for our local seniors group.
We are fortunate to have an active group focused on addressing the needs of seniors in the area. We respect that after loosing a parent or a spouse, a new level of care and concern arises for those left behind. This group can advise you of programs designed to help and provide the caring peace of mind that has made our area so special.

One of the major goals at the Boakes Funeral Home is to make arrangements easier for the families that we serve. With the help of technology we are able to provide information for families before they come to our Funeral Home. Listed below are several newspapers in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area, but we have the resources to place an obituary in any newspaper in the United States.

Another option for families is to run a memorium display ad after your services have taken place to thank people who helped you in your bereavement. Memorium display ads are also sometimes published to honor the anniversary of the death or to remember the birthday your loved one.
