Helen Bauer (Nee Balka) 91
My mom, Helen Bauer of Mays Landing, formally from Carteret, NJ passed on to the Lord on September 9, 2020.
Mom passed peacefully at Royal Suites Long Term Care Facility after suffering a stroke in August 2018.
She is survived by me, her only child, Rosemary Ingber, of Mays Landing, NJ; her brother Louis Balka of Forked River, NJ and my surrogate sister and best friend, her niece Marie Zuback of Bolingbrook, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews. And last, but not least, her cat, Trouble, that I promise to always take care of.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Mary and Alexander Balka, and my dad, Robert, the true love of her life; her loving granddaughter Emma R. Ingber, with who she had a very special bond; sisters Anna Myers and Emma Gustavson; her brothers Frank, Alexander, Jr., Joseph, George, William, John and Edward Balka; also her nephews Kenneth Balka, Richard Schneider, George Mirolsky, Jr. and Thomas Mirolsky.
My mom loved her gardening, cooking, and especially baking!
She was an unbelievable Hungarian cook and baker along with my grandmother and Aunt Emma. For days they prepared for Christmas and also Easter. It was the best of times! And the best of family!
There is so much more I can say, but we all knew my mom was special.
My dear Mom,
I want you to know just how very much you will always be loved and missed by us. You were there for everyone. At last after 31 years you and dad are together again; and I know he is holding your hand as he always did.
On September 30, 1990 I brought you home, Emma, and put your new granddaughter in your arms. There was so much happiness in your face, and how that love grew through the years.
I am now going to give her to you again. It is with love and honor to lay her ashes to rest with you and Dad.
I love you Mommy. Rest in peace now with your family. I will see you all someday.
A graveside committal will be held on Tuesday, September 22 at 11 AM at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia, NJ
