Laura Jane Ferguson, 58, of Pleasantville, NJ passed away at home beside her family on September 3, 2020, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Massachusetts and later moved to Nova Scotia, Canada where she met her life-long “husband” Mark and later moved to New Jersey. Laura was a devout mother, grandmother and friend. She was a beautiful person inside and out, but “hell on wheels.” Anyone who met Laura will always remember her distinctive voice and laugh. She was very outgoing and silly but could not tell a joke for her life. Laura was a firecracker but genuine in everything she did. She had her battles with life, but she always fought her way through them. She was a go-getter and did not stop until she got what she wanted. She will be forever missed!

She is predeceased by her mother Sandra Ferguson. Laura leaves behind her father, Howard Woitzman-Ferguson (Candace) of California; “Husband” of 43 years, Mark Langford of Pleasantville; two children, Morgan Langford of Pleasantville and Marcus Langford (Christol) of Atlantic City; three sisters Christie Ferguson of California, Susan LaBrie (David) of Maine, and Amy Howard of South Carolina; two granddaughters Constance and Cianni, and a son from another mother, Kermick DeJesus of New York, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life for Laura at her home on her birthday, Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 3 PM.

Her Daughter Morgan and Son Marcus and her longtime partner Mark did a beautiful job caring for her in her last months. It helps me to know she had that love and concern and care for the last of her life Thank You
Laura, Rest in peace, free of pain ,❤❤

She “did not go gently into that good night“ (Poem by Dylan Thomas).
As the youngest of four daughters, she was loved but living with her was another story. She could be on your last nerve and still make you laugh even as you contemplated beating the crap out of her. She would be at your mercy, or so you thought, and cry injury or lack of breath. As soon as one of us released our death grip, she would jump up, say “haha just kidding” and run. She was fast and could take corners on a dime, which probably saved her life many times over.
She was a child who pushed everyone’s buttons at one time or another. She was the only one I ever knew who could make even my mother lose her patience, temper, and/or calm. For various reasons (legitimate at the time, or so we thought), dressed or not, summer or winter, we may (haha) have thrown her out of the house (several times, several houses) even a bus (it was not moving, although, that might not have stopped us). Even then we could still hear her yelling and cussing us out in her loud raspy voice. The world is a quieter place now that that voice is silent.
