Margaret A. Disbrow, 78, of Mays Landing passed away on June 20, 2020 after a long illness, she is now at peace. Marge was born in Newark and raised by her loving grandparents. She lived in Bloomfield for 28 years before moving to Mays Landing. Her life was filled with giving.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Steve. She is predeceased by her father and grandparents.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 25 from 1 to 3PM, followed by a service at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers please donate to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Marge has always been looking after others
We lived in Bloomfield for over 28 years

She first started her Ceramic studio in the house with friends and soon became at capacity. A little girl peaked in the window and wanted to know if could join. Marge trying be nice and hoping to discourage the girl said she would have at least 6 for a class. The next morning the little girl came back with a list of twelve. So the children classes began.
Then she got involved with a senior center and the County sponsored her to give classes.

Marge then volunteered at a Senior home and became the Activity Director.

After her grandparents passed away, we decided to leave Bloomfield and look for an Adult community. We found the Oaks of Weymouth.
The very first Marge found was the Post Polio support group. Marge had polio at age 8 and at age 50 she started having the same pains. As she started attending the meetings the leader moved out of state and of course Marge stepped in as the leader of the group.

The following are some of her activities
. created the South Jersey Sweepers
. created the South Jersey Stampers
. created the MahJong group
. created the local Red Hat the Scarlet Sassys
. was the secretary of the local Telephone Pioneers
. ran bus tours to Music/Luncheon venues
. volunteer to help coordinate the County Flu shot
. coordinate with DYFS and our community to provide Christmas present for the Children
. collected food from the community and delivered to Sister Jean in ACY
. was a member of the IRISH AMERICAN CLUB

I met Marge in 2002 and we became friends. Then I met Steve and we all became good friends. I attended meetings every month at the Mill Street Pub and looked forward to seeing Marge and Steve. Marge loved McDonalds like me and we tried to meet at her house for what she called "surf an turf" hamburgers an a filet' O fish! It was a great time sitting and talking. Marge was a real dynamo! She had more clubs and meetings going on then I could keep up with. She was the best friend to many. She was my biggest fan when I started my business and was in a few of my ads (one time wearing motorcycle goggles). I hope you know how much you are loved Marge. Les Snyder

I met Marge and Steve through my mother who lived at the Oaks. Marge was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was kind to everyone and was involved in so many community activities. In fact, Marge was the leader of most of those groups and activities. I was proud to be a part of One if Marge’s card stamping groups. She was a very talented and creative woman. I’ll miss you, but know you are at peace with my mom in heaven. Love you, Marge!

Marge made life special for us here at the Oaks and we were blessed. She organized the Reds Hats, the Lunch Bunch, and the Majong card games. We had so much fun and Marge was just a hoot! When we left Connecticut, we left all our friends behind, and they had been like family. We moved here after a few years in Linwood and Marge and Steve made us feel like we had that family circle of friends again. We will miss you, Marge, like losing a sister. May you be organizing events at a higher level now, sitting with God and grandma in heaven.

Marge was a wonderful Sister in Law. Beautiful, loving, caring , talented with her many crafts, which I admired..Always looked foward to her hand crafted birthday and holiday cards that she made.....she even let Steve put his hand to her cards at times!
She was a loving wife to my brother , which I am thankful. They had a happy , loving , fun life together. We could tell by their many trips they shared with us and the photos they shared, they knew how to enjoy life . She will be greatly missed by all.....Love you, Marge...Rest in Peace with God
