I am so sorry to read of George's passing. Our deepest sympathies to the family.
We met George when he camped at Colonial Meadows a few years back. He would come over on Sat nights to play cards and was always generous bringing clams when he came to the picnics at the campground. We stayed in touch when he moved on to other campgrounds in the area and always touched base with him in the winter when he was in Florida. He would let us know when he headed north in April for the summer. We live in Florida as well and we would be sure to catch up with him in the summer when we got up to Jersey.
I pray that your memories of him bring happy thoughts and smiles. He was one of a kind and I will miss him. God Bless George. And God Bless his family.
Shelley and Larry

So sorry to hear about your dad and Grandpop.

My husband and I camped across the road from him at Winding River Campground. He called my husband “Rocketman.” (My husband could not get the campfire going one day, so he was blowing it with the leaf blower) He always saved the fat off of his meat for our black lab Satin, they were best buds.

I know I probably drove him nuts, but I loved mother henning him and I know he liked my homemade chicken soup.

Will miss his little walks to come over and sit by our campfire with us. His morning hellos as he left to go to the diner. He might not have realized it, but he became a part of our camping family. And he told us where the best ice cream store was in May’s Landing.

If you need anything please to not hesitate to contact us.

We will miss your dad very much.
