Melvin C. Foster, 73 of Mays Landing passed away suddenly at home on February 22, 2020. He was born June 1, 1946 to the late Christopher and Lela Foster in Estelle Manor. He is also predeceased by his brothers, Christopher, Kenneth, Samuel and James.

Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Charlene (Tucker) and his three daughters, Donna Bakley of Mays Landing, Linda Foster-Sinski (Vince) of Mays Landing and Rochelle Pitts (Kevin) of Somers Point. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, James (Julie), Melissa, Joe and Danny Bakley, Emme and Ava Sinski, Tyler, Jordyn, Shane and Cole Pitts along with 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Ruth Dalton of Maine, Janet Parker of Estelle Manor and two brothers Frank Foster of Texas and Leroy Foster of Mays Landing not to mention a slew of loving nieces and nephews. Melvin loved his faithful furry companion Peanut who enjoyed sitting by his side at all times.

Melvin was a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps serving from 1966 to 1972. He is a Vietnam Veteran earning a Purple Heart before being honorably discharged. Melvin was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed building and fixing things, hunting, fishing and going to the horse races. He was a kind quiet man that loved his family and lived a very simple life. He will truly be missed by all.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 27th at Union Cemetery, 5442 Mays Landing Somers Point Road, Mays Landing, NJ.

Im Proud to had been named after such a Great Man....I loved my Uncle for the Man he was... Learing more about him over the years, made me have more than the Utmost respect for him...R.I.P Uncle Melvin ....My Heart goes out to my Aunt Charlene and my Cousins..
