Obituary

Theresa Paxton, 69, of Mays Landing, unexpectedly passed away on February 12, 2020. Predeceased by her husband Ralph and daughter Deanna, she is survived by her children: Keith & Laurie, Jeff & Steph, and Craig & Billie Jo; grandchildren: Kimberly & Robert Klinetob, Robert & Gia, Taylor & Noah, Logan, Hunter, Becca, Kevin, and Greg; brother Thomas Buntzen (Bette) and sister Cecilia Cassidy;

Born in Dumont, NJ to Franklin and Cecilia Buntzen, she graduated St. Josephs High School and married two months later to Ralph Paxton. Theresa raised Deanna and Keith mostly on her own for the first few years due to Ralph’s military service in Vietnam.

After moving around South Jersey a few times, Theresa and family settled down in Mays Landing. She held several jobs, from Sears to running a daycare, and finally, a 32-year career in banking.

She loved her family without question! Her friends, church, and wine were a close second! She preferred to be called Terri by friends, and very good and close friends she had. Sharon, Gerald, Brian and Suzanne Luther, Dorothy Alexander, and Rick and Jeannie Blatt just to name a few. To name every great friend Terri has had would be impossible. Plus Terri would say they were all part of our family, not just friends! Her love for family and friends created a lot of parties and get-together opportunities, which she loved attending and hosting!

Terri was a devout Catholic who attended Mass at St. Vincent de Paul Church every Sunday. God was a huge part of her life, and a part of who she was.

Terri has made the lives of so many better just by being a part of them! She will be sorely missed and never forgotten!

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 17 from 6-8 PM at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing. A second viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 18 from 10-11 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 5021 Harding Hwy., Mays Landing, where Mass will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society is preferred.

I first met Terror through her husband Ralph who I worked with for quite a few years. We met on the night we all went to see Yanni. She never let me forget that I needed Propane for the barbeque we had . Yep all the stuff was out and ready except for the propane ..a funny moment I'll not soon forget..I know she didn't. When you fly to heaven say hello to Ralph and Deanna for me. I will miss all of you

Having been friends since the Air National Guard Security Police days, through Bally Security, Yesterday's Past Antique Co-op, and Bombay, we experienced and shared our lives. Birth of Children and Grandchildren, the heartbreaking loss of Dee, and Marriages of Children and Grandchildren. Our lives were deeply enriched by having them in our lives. As Jeanne's Mother used to say to Terri; "Thank you for being her friend." We will miss her deeply, but will cherish all the special memories we have. I have no doubt that Terri will be an Angel sitting on our shoulders, whenever we need her. God Bless and Rest in Peace Terri.
