Wow I don't know where to start with memories. Jeff moved to my neighborhood when he was 5 and I was 4. At the time we were the youngest kids so he got stuck with me. The day I met him we were playing in my brothers tree fort and I dared him to hug me, he said ewwww. So I chased him around until I cornered him and hugged him and that was the start of a life long friendship.
Jeff became my best friend in adolescence, he was kind, funny, and he looked out for me, he even carried my book bag around for me for 6 weeks without a single complaint, when I sprained my ankle freshman year. When he and Corin started dating it was like his life began. I have never been so sure two people were soul mates. When you saw how Jeff looked at Corin you could literally feel the love. They gave me so much hope.
We had so many fun memories over the years, 4wheeling, hiking, backpacking, camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sitting around many camp fires and of course concerts. Jeff loved to be outside.
I will never forget when we were 4wheeling in the woods in high school and found a soda machine. We came up with this great plan to take it back to his house and put it in the shed for when we were all hanging out there...which was always. I will never forget his dad coming out and man he did not believe we found it. We really did but he won and we had to "take it back to where ever it came from!".
The thing I will miss the most about Jeff is how much he enjoyed arguing with me. He would literally argue with me about something he didn't even believe just to get a rise out of me, and man was he good at it.
I am sending so much love to Corin, Jeff's big wonderful family that always made me feel like I was a part of it, and all of Jeff's friends. May we all take from Jeff the wonderful qualities of enjoying natures majesty and being happy no matter how hard your journey is.
