Obituary for Lillian R Conover
Lillian R. Conover, 74, of Buena, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.
An original Jersey girl, she was born in Atlantic City and spent her youth in Pleasantville where she met the love of her life, Ernest D. Conover, while he was purchasing a peach ice cream. It was love at first sight, and they spent the next 57 years together.
Lillian spent many years in the retail business creating delicious fudge in Historic Smithville and eventually retired from Sears later in life. An angel before her time, her work with Alley Cats ensured that no stray animal ever went hungry or no injured animal ever suffered long. She saved many, many lives. We know she’ll have many friends waiting over the Rainbow Bridge.
Lillian is predeceased by her other Marguarite and her father Russell, her sister “Peggy Regal” and brother Charles “Ginger” Voight.
Lillian is survived by her husband Ernest D. Conover of Buena; sisters Trudy Beckman and Linda Mott; children: Leann Wade, Ernest Conover, Jr., Cynthia Adkins and Jennifer Conover; grandchildren: Jamie Wade, Nicole Conover, Kathleen Szymanski, Lacy Armstrong, Steph Gilman, Rebecca Adkins, Nicklous Adkins, Samantha Adkins, and Wyatt A. Conover; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Nagler and Alex Armitage. Other family members include “Lucky” Regal and Carol Voight, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her beloved family was her greatest treasure in live.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her memory on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where a viewing will be held from 1-2:30 pm followed by a short service. Burial will follow at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery.
