Dorothy Ann Long (nee Sacco) of Mays Landing passed peacefully at Atlanticare Medical Center, Atlantic City on April 1, 2018, after a long, courageous battle with glioblastoma multiforme.
Dorothy, who also went by Dot or D.A., was born December 16, 1953 in Cherry Point, NC to her adoring parents, John A. and the late E. Dorothy Sacco. Dot was a lifetime resident of the area and employed at Trump Plaza from May 15, 1984 until September 16, 2014. After the closing of Trump Plaza Dot worked for Crown (Advanced) Auto Parts in Egg Harbor Twp. until she became ill.
It was at Trump Plaza that Dot met her loving companion of twenty-five years, Vincent DiBlasi. In addition to her father and Vincent, Dot is survived by her devoted son, Albert and his wife Justina and her grandson, the apple of her eye, Albert III (Haley Smith). She always held a special place in her heart for Bill Cocoma. Dot is also survived by her ex-husband and lifelong friend, Albert Long, Sr of Buena, her stepdaughters, Kathleen Cullen (Ken Eckert) and Linda (Ed) Acosta and their children, Malissa Cullen, Amanda Cullen, and Edward Hackett as well as her aunt and uncle, many cousins, and friends
In her free time Dorothy enjoyed vacationing, drag racing, and boating with her family. She particularly enjoyed evenings on the boat at The Golden Nugget with Vinnie. Dot’s favorite thing to do, however was support Albert III at his sporting events- especially wrestling.
Family, friends, and colleagues are invited to attend her viewing on Friday, April 6, from 11 AM – 12:30 pm at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St, Mays Landing, NJ 08330. Services will be held at 12:30. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
