Albert H. Stiteler, 94 of Linwood, passed peacefully on March 8th, 2018. One of fourteen children, he was born January 2, 1924 in Magnolia, NJ to Alice and Harry Stiteler. Albert is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty and his brother Bob, his children-Betty Karrer, Albert (Karen), Larry (Linda), Paul (JoAnn), and John, his grandchildren Albert III, Keith, Andrea, Lisa, Larry, Shawn, Stephanie, Wesley, Caitlen, Lauren, Jason, Bryant, Alyssa and Trevor. Albert was blessed to have 13 great-grandchildren. Additionally, he considered Debbie Mazzeo to be one of the family.
Albert was predeceased by his parents and siblings Beatrice, Edith, Florence, Ted, John, Bert, Gladys, Dorothy, Betty, Harry, Phillip and Alice along with his grandson Paul Jr. and son-in-law, Bob Karrer. Honorably discharged from the Army Air Corp after WWII, he was a lifetime member of Linwood Community Church and, founder of Linwood Roofing Co. Albert played semi-pro baseball with the Pleasantville A’s for 20 years and later softball for Linwood’s Hunt Tile. He was an avid fan of the Phillies. Along with his gardens, one of his greatest pleasures was his many award-winning Christmas displays. After retirement he continued his artistic talents designing copper birds and landscapes under the name ‘Just Birds’ and was featured at many local craft fairs.
Viewing will be held Monday from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main Street Mays Landing, with services at noon. Interment to follow at Zion Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township.
