Obituary for Ronald George Buchan
Ronald G. Buchan, 73, passed away peacefully following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Darby, PA, Ron grew up in Springfield, Delaware County, PA. After attending Pennsylvania Military College (PMC), he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and attained the rank of Sgt. E-7, while serving in Vietnam, where he was wounded and sent back to the States. After being discharged from the Marines, Ron joined the Darby Borough Police Department as a part-timer but eventually joined the Springfield Township Police Department on a full-time basis.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, George and Alice Buchan, and his brother George. Ron was a wonderful father to and is survived by his six children: Ron (Melody), Chris (Gina), Jennifer (Rich) DeStefani, Brian, Sarah, and Helene (Ben) Truesdale, seven grandchildren: Zachary, Duncan, Liam, Maya, Brandon (Kailey), Nicholas, and Andreas; and two great-granddaughters: Kailyn and Montana.
Interment will take place at the Atlantic County Veterans’ Cemetery, Estell Manor Park, 109 Boulevard, Route 50, Mays Landing, NJ 08330 on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:30 am.
